Marvin Harrison

Marvin Daniel Harrison from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, spent a 13 year career with the Indianapolis Colts. His position as wide receiver has earned him several places in the NFL. In 2002, he broke Herman Moore's NFL record of receptions by 20. In 2006 he became the fourth player to record 1000 receptions in the NFL and also 1 out of 7 receivers to make 100 touchdowns. But in 2007, a bad knee injury cost him almost a season. The season of 2008 won him 2nd ranking of NFL career receptions of 1,102 at his last game with the Tennessee Titans. He has since asked for a release from the Indianapolis Colts due to a dispute over pay. He would not agree on restructuring his contract with them. He has been granted release from the Colts and at this point he is just a free agent.

Harrison played four different sports in high school. He then attended Syracuse University, choosing to play football. He ranked 2nd in school history with 20 receiving touchdowns and set a national record of 2,718 career receiving yards. After graduating, he was then drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

He was noted as a soft spoken and humble player, just wanting to be recognized for his plays on the field. Harrison is 36 years of age. He is still looking forward to playing in 2009, but at this point he has no offers. The Colts are sad to lose him. Some think he will retire.
