Peyton Manning's Place in NFL History

For those who don't know much about the NFL, there have been many great quarterbacks that have come through the league over the years. While it is very tough to pick which one has been the best over the NFL's history, one can certainly say which quarterbacks have been in the upper echelon. Peyton Manning is one of the quarterbacks that is considered to be one of the best to ever play the game. He currently plays for the Indianapolis Colts and has led them to a Super Bowl victory in 2003 over the Denver Broncos by defeating them 41-10. Manning was named co-MVP that season with Steve McNair. So where does Peyton stack up against other great quarterbacks? Where is Manning's place in NFL history?

Again, it is impossible to pick the best quarterback ever to play the game as it is based mostly on one's opinion. However, it is easy to say that there definitely has been a handful of quarterbacks that have been a step above the rest. Peyton Manning is considered by many to be one of those quarterbacks. Manning has put up staggering numbers throughout his career in terms of passing yards and passing touchdowns. Not only has he put up great numbers, but he has also won the Super Bowl. A lot of people only look at those who have won the Super Bowl as a quarterback in terms of being considered as one of the greats. Manning did that and in doing so, cemented himself as one of the best QB's in NFL history.
