Bob Sanders

Bob Sanders was born in February of 1981, with the original name of Demond. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 2004. His two nicknames are the Hitman and the Sandman. Sanders led his Iowa Buckeyes to an undefeated season, the first in 80 years. He was so vicious in college, that in the practices, if his teammates knew they would have to drill with him, they would change their position and try to get someone else to work with.

Sanders was not a big draft choice out of high school for college teams. He was considered small for his defensive position. In 2001, he was part of the Iowa team and made such an impression his first season that he was awarded Honorable Mention. In 2004, he began his NFL career and currently plays for Indianapolis.

Sanders has set such a mark on football, and his fans, that even his college jersey was making a dent in the sales market. So much so, that when he asked to have his number changed, he was told no because the jersey sales were too popular. His stats now include a Super Bowl ring, three Player of the Year awards, two All-Pro selections and two Pro-Bowl selections.

He is still considered small for his position at defensive back, at just five foot, eight inches tall and 208 pounds. His fierce style, however, has set a mark in the NFL world. As he begins his seventh season, he is estimated to continue his tackle rate, which makes him the leading tackler and the dominant DB on the Colts' roster.
