Peyton Manning

On March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana one of the NFL's most recognizable players, Peyton William Manning was born. Peyton, who proudly wears jersey number eighteen, is a quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts.

Before his career in the NFL began, he attended college at the University of Tennessee. He played football for the Tennessee Volunteers. In three years he completed his degree and in 1998 he went on to be the first overall pick in the NFL by the Indianapolis Colts. During Peyton's rookie season he set 5 records and was named to the "NFL All Rookie First Team." After his first game winning drive he was also named AFC's Offensive player of the week. Years later, in 2007 after much scrutiny, Peyton lead the Colt's to win Super Bowl XLI. The team made it to the playoffs several times before without getting the big game win, but he finally did it. Peyton is also a three-time NFL MVP, which he is only of two that carry that title, his first being in 2003.

Because Manning is such a personable and likable person, you may have seen him or recognized him, other than football, on many commercials or magazines. Peyton is also featured on several of XBOX's NFL Fever games.

On a more personal note, Peyton married his wife Ashley, whom he was introduced to by her neighbors on March 17, 2001. His father is former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and his younger brother Eli, is New York Giant's quarterback. Shortly after his career started, Manning started a foundation, "The Peyback Foundation," to help disadvantaged kids, which him and his wife are very involved in. He has also set up the "Peyton Manning Scholarship Fund" at his old Alma-mater, University of Tennessee.
