Anthony Gonzalez

Anthony Gonzalez was born on September 18, 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio.He attended St. Ignatius High School, where he played both offense and defense on the football team. During his high school football career, he earned recognition. He was named All-Ohio as a Senior, MVP as a junior leading his team to a state championship, and Co-Defensive Player of the Year by the Assosiated Press. He was also a track and field letterman, making it to the state finals as a junior and senior.

Anthony Gonzalez is now a wide receiver in the NFL. He plays for the Indianapolis Colts and is in his third season. Gonzalez came from Ohio State University, where he was named to the All-Big Ten team by coaches from that league. Unlike many other football players, he was also an Academic All American.

In his first season as a Colt, Gonzalez caught 37 passes equaling 576 yards. He scored three touchdowns. His next season, he caught 57 passes that equaled 664 yards and had four touchdowns. Even though he had started in only two games in his second season, he made 16 appearances as wide receiver. His statistics improved from the first to second season. In the post season of his second year, he started as wide receiver against San Diego in the Wild Card game. He totaled six catches for 97 yards. Although he is still a young one among his professional colleagues, he is consistently improving in his statistics and shows promise to eventually be a team leader.
