Reggie Wayne is a wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Colts in the 2001 draft as the 30th pick in round one. He played his college ball at the University of Miami, where he set a new school record for catches with 173, according to Wikipedia. He also caught the ball at least once in thirty-six straight games. He graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Liberal Arts.
Wayne was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on November 17, 1978. He went to high school in Marrero, where he excelled in football and track.
As a wide receiver with the Colts, Wayne played little the first two years after he was drafted. However, in 2003 he came onto the scene and caught 68 passes for a total of 818 yards and he scored seven touchdowns. The next season, his stats went up to 77 catches, 1210 yards gained and he crossed the goal line 12 times. He was selected to play in the Pro-Bowl both of those years.
2007 was another amazing year for Wayne. He caught 104 passes, which set a career high for him. He gained 1510 yards and was sent to the Pro-Bowl for the third year in a row. 2008 was another good year, though he didn’t surpass his previous years totals. He caught only 82 passes, but once again gained more than 1000 yards and went to his fourth Pro-Bowl.
Number 87 for the Indianapolis Colts is a tremendous asset for the team, as his overall stats show. He has 579 receptions, 8,129 receiving yards and he has scored 53 touchdowns, impressive numbers in anybody’s book.
