Anthony Gonzalez was born in September of 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was drafted to the Indianapolis Colts in 2007. Gonzalez was drafted in the first round of the National Football League. He started out as a wide receiver in college and is still a wide receiver today.
While attending Ohio State, Gonzalez did not play much as a red shirt freshman. It only took him a year to figure out where he was going wrong so that he could be put on the starting line. His teammates have said that Gonzalez is a receiver you can depend on, he is tough and willing to do anything for the team. He will go down the middle and take a hit if that is what it will take. Gonzalez can do a little bit of everything on the field, he never seemed to have just one real stand out ability. Ohio State felt that he lacked the explosiveness to be a major play maker. Although they did feel that the combination of skills that he did posses, intelligence and toughness, allowed him to make an impact on the league.
Gonzalez was chosen as a slot receiver for the Indianapolis colts and is making a name for himself. According to coaches Gonzalez is a great number two receiver, but to be in the top spot, he will have to step up his game. He is a great play runner and he is quick off the line to catch the ball. He will just need to make the big plays to catch the top receiver's position.
