Adam Vinatieri of the Indianapolis Colts

Adam Vinatieri, nicknamed "Automatic Adam" because he is so accurate on the field, came from a line of determined people. His great-great-grandfather was a bandmaster for General George Custer and Evel Knievel, the "daredevil" on a motorcycle, is his third cousin. Adam loves motorcycling but he does his dare-deviling on the football field as a famous placekicker. He was born is South Dakota in 1972 and, having played football in school, he was recruited by the Army and spent a few weeks at West Point. He then switched to South Dakota University and after a great career in football, earning a couple of championship awards, he graduated from there.

His professional career started in 1996 as a free agent with the Patriots as placekicker. His term of 10 years with them gained him entrance into four Super Bowls, with wins in three. He received a championship ring. He is known as one of the best clutch kickers in the NFL.

The Indianapolis Colts signed a 5 year contract with him in 2006. He helped them win the Super Bowl in his first season with them. He has the title of being the first kicker to play in five Super Bowls. He has another nickname of "iceman" because he has great poise when he is under pressure. Adam and his wife, Valeri, live in Indiana with their two children during season time and in Florida in off season time. Presently, Adam is still playing with the Indianapolis Colts.
