Bob Sanders is an American football player who is part of the Indianapolis Colts. Picked as a promising young player during the 2004 NFL drafts, he went onto become a legend. His small stature combined with his aggressive moves won over fans and renewed respect for his skills.
Sanders' talent was noticed at a young age. During sixth grade, his hard-hitting maneuvers caught everyone's attention when he played for the McKinley Middle School team. All eyes were on him starting from his time at Cathedral Preparatory School. There he won a number of accolades including four-year letterman and a two-time All-Conference selection. Becoming team captain as a senior was another noteworthy feat.
The star player was picked by NFL after his college years in University of Iowa. Initially, there were misgivings about his capabilities which was mostly due to his smaller build. But after his stellar work in the football field during school years, he was finally acknowledged as a rising star.
Once he was picked for Indianapolis, he quickly established himself. In more than three seasons, he was a formidable force on the field. His list of nicknames (including “The Hitman” and “The Hulk”) are testimony to his performance. Such was his prowess that he won the Player of the Year a number of times.
In 2008, Sanders was held back due to injuries. This included a knee injury as well as an ankle sprain. Due to this, he missed out on a few games, but nonetheless displayed his magic touch when he did participate in the remaining games.
