Who is Adam Vinatieri

There have been several kickers in NFL history to earn themselves a name but none like Adam Vinatieri. He has been called by many football enthusiasts the greatest kicker of all time.

Vinatieri went to college at South Dakota State University, where he led the school as the all time scoring leader, with 185 points scored by the end of his college years. In 1996, he was drafted by the New England Patriots, where he played in four Super Bowls, winning 3 of them. With these Super Bowl appearances, as well as one more with the Colts, it made him the only kicker in NFL history to appear in five Super Bowls and win four of them. Vinatieri was involved in some game winning kicks that saved the game for the Patriots. In fact, after winning the Super Bowl in 2003 against the Panthers with the game deciding kick, he was listed as the only player in NFL history to make the deciding kick in two Super Bowls. Along with that, he has held a record for the most career passing yards for a kicker, which he earned during fake field goal attempts. He has also set several records which still stand today, including the player with the most points in a season, most lifetime Super Bowl points, and record for the most total points in a single postseason, among several others.

Adam, his wife Valeri, and his two children live in Indiana during the season and Florida on his days off. He has ties to a great performer named Evil Knievel.
