Bob Sanders

Demond “Bob” Sanders plays safety for the Indianapolis Colts. He was born on February 24, 1981 in Pennsylvania. He got drafted during the second round in 2004. He was at University of Iowa playing college football. In 2007, he was named Player of the Year for defense. His defense tactics helped win the Super Bowl in 2007 and he was nicknamed "the Hitman."

In his early life, his name was hard to pronounce and he wanted to change it, but his mom suggested Bob and it stuck. He grew up in Pennsylvania, going to Erie Central High during his freshman year, but he then transferred to a prep school, where he was running back and a safety for the team. His senior year, he was team captain. His stats are awesome, with 900 rushing yards during his senior year, along with 17 touchdowns and his team record is 13-1, with a championship game in the future. He graduated in 2000 and besides football, he also kick boxed.

Bob’s size affected his recruiting right off, but he went on to college on a scholarship. He had a foot injury during his first season, but his comeback was well remembered by the opposing team from Illinois. With his unpredictability, it is hard for the other team to figure out what he is going to do next. While at the University of Iowa, he had 348 tackles added to his list of heavy hits and persistent playing. Bob Sanders is the only pick from a second round draft that signed up last.
