Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning comes from a family of outstanding athletes. His father, Archie, is a retired professional football player and his younger brother, Eli, is the quarterback for the New York Giants. Peyton grew up watching his famous father with the dream of eventually following in his footsteps, which he did. Peyton surprised many when he chose to attend the University of Tennessee, instead of the college his father graduated from, Ole Miss. Manning’s college choice proved to be a good one when team injuries landed him the starting quarterback position as a freshman.

Manning had a very successful college career, winning 39 of the 45 games he started. Over his four year college stay, Manning became the University of Tennessee’s all-time passing leader with over 11,000 passing yards. Manning’s talents earned him a spot on the Indianapolis Colt’s lineup when he was drafted first overall in the 1998 draft. Manning joined the Colts and started his rookie year.

In his rookie year, Manning threw for 3,739 yard and 26 touchdowns, which earned him multiple rookie records. Over the course of his career, Manning has thrown for 45,628 yards and 333 touchdowns with just 165 interceptions. Manning has been selected to the pro bowl nine times and led the Colts to a Super Bowl victory once.

Manning continues to be a strong quarterback in the National Football League and continues to play for the Indianapolis Colts. Manning has multiple endorsement deals and has even tried his hand at acting, making an appearance on the hit show “Saturday Night Live.”
