Peyton Manning, as many people already know, is a great football player for the Indianapolis Colts. He was drafted by the Colts as the first overall pick in 1998 and has played for them ever since. Besides spending most of his time during the football season on the football field or conditioning for the games, he still finds time to do charity work.
Peyton was born into a football family. His father, Archie Manning, was a quarterback in the NFL, and his younger brother, Eli Manning, is a quarterback for the New York Giants.
Peyton, of course, has many accomplishments on the field. He has been selected 9 different times to play in the Pro Bowl. Peyton holds the all time record for both passing yards and passing touchdowns for the Indianapolis Colts. His resume also includes a Super Bowl ring along with a Super Bowl MVP award.
Besides being a great NFL quarterback, Peyton also does a lot of charity work. He has his own foundation which is called PeyBack. PayBack has a few different divisions. 'PeyBack Classic' was first thought of when he was still in high school. This charity is devoted to helping local high school athletic programs. 'Peyton's Pals' was started in 2002, and its mission is to make it possible for children with disadvantages to attend Colts home games. 'PeyBack Bowl' is an annual private fundraising event for the at risk youth in Indiana. He and other celebrities come together each fall to raise money for the organization by bowling. As you can see, Peyton stays very active in the community, as well, and enjoys helping and encouraging children.
