Colts Reciever Anthony Gonzalez

Anthony Gonzalez was born on September 18th, 1984 in Avon Lake, Ohio. Gonzalez attended and graduated from Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. While attending high school, Gonzalez was a record breaking athlete in both track and football. Gonzalez played on both the offensive and defensive side in football which earned him the title of Co-Defensive Player of the Year. On the offensive side, Gonzalez had 1,873 yards with an impressive 21 touchdowns. After high School, Gonzalez furthered his education and sports career at Ohio State University.

Gonzalez continued to play football in college which eventually led to a career in the National Football League (NFL). In college, Gonzalez started in 17 out of 33 games and had a total of 13 touchdowns throughout the 4 years. Gonzalez put up his best numbers in his junior year, scoring 8 receiving touchdowns and 734 receiving yards. Gonzalez was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts with the 32nd pick in the 1st round of the 2007 draft. The Colts primarily drafted him to play the slot receiver position. In his first year with the Colts, Gonzalez played in 13 games and had 37 receptions for 576 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. In his second year with the Colts, Gonzalez improved by playing in 16 games and having 57 receptions for 664 yards with 4 touchdowns.

In the 2008 season, Gonzalez played at the third receiver position, but fans hope to see much more of him now with Marvin Harrison out of the picture.
