Marvin Harrison

Marvin Harrison is a famous American football player. Most of his sports career revolved around the Indianapolis Colts where he also broke a number of records. In 2008, he left behind the Colts and has been on a free agent ever since.

Harrison's athletic prowess caught everyone's attention quite early in his school life. Fans will note how he set the national record during his university years. Thus, it was no surprise that he made it to the 1996 NFL draft.

He was chosen by Indianapolis Colts and he was one of their most famous players. His record breaking moves included the famous NFL one of the most receptions in one season in 2002. Other records include the accolade for most consecutive games with approximately 204 receptions and recognition as one of the few players to boast over 1,000 receptions.

Harrison was the subject of a few controversies recently. In 2005, there was a ruckus about a possible fight with younger fans. This issue was resolved when there didn't seem to be any further proof of the event.

His name also came up in a 2008 shooting incident. This took place outside a property owned by Harrison. Some reports state that this incident was preceded by a heated disagreement between Harrison and the victim Dwight Dixon. At the time, reports stated that the gun used in the shooting was the property of Harrison. There was, however, no proof as such as that Harrison himself might have been the shooter. Later, the case was dismissed because the varying accounts of witnesses created doubt about some of the claims.
