Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning is the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Colts in 1998, the first pick in the first round, and neither Manning or the team have ever regretted it. Manning led the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2006. He was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) in that game.

He has been selected to play in the Pro-Bowl nine times and was named Pro Bowl MVP in 2005. He also holds the record of Indianapolis Colts all time leader in passing touchdowns and passing yards.

Manning comes by it naturally, so to speak, as his father Archie Manning was also a quarterback in the NFL, as is his younger brother Eli who is currently the quarterback for the New York Giants. The year after the Colts won the Super Bowl, Peyton got to watch his brother Eli lead the Giants to a Super Bowl win over the highly favored New England Patriots.

Manning made football history on December 26, 2004, when he broke the record for, “most touchdown passes in a single season.” The record was previously held by Dan Marino of the Miami Dolphins and the number was 48. Manning also broke some other records by “passing for more than four thousand yards in six consecutive seasons, and the only player to score four touchdowns or more in five consecutive games.”

Peyton Manning will no doubt go down in history as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, quarterbacks of all time.
