Marvin Daniel Harrison was born on August 25, 1972. He was born and raised in Philadelphia. He graduated and went to Syracuse University. He started his football career as a 3-year starter and set a national record with 2,718 receiving yards. He was ranked second in school history with 20 receiving touchdowns.
In 1996 the Indianapolis colts selected Marvin. He was the 19th selection in the NFL Draft. Who could have known at the time that he was going to become one of the best receivers in NFL history? Since then he had a record that finished with 143 catches and 1,700 receiving yards. He became the fourth player in the NFL to receive a record of 1000 receptions.
In May 2008, Marvin Harrison was accused of being involved in a shooting incident where another man was shot in the hand. Once the police start investigating they had discovered multiple bullet shells at the scene of the shootout. After a handgun was discovered in a bucket at a car wash, the police started to prepare charges against Harrison but to no avail. The question of whether Harrison was actually guilty or not still remains.
On Feb 25, 2009 he asked to be release from the Colts, who were looking at pay cuts to make their new budget. The team granted his wish but many wonder if they will one day regret letting such a talented athlete go. He was released from the Colts but still has the reputation of being one of the best receivers of all time.
