Peyton Manning was born March 24, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers. He is the son of ex-professional football player Archie Manning. Peyton now plays professional football for the Indianapolis Colts and has played for them since being drafted in 1998. Statistically, he is most likely the best NFL quarterback of all time. Peyton Manning currently holds the record for the most 4,000 passing yards in consecutive seasons. He won his first Superbowl in 2006, beating the Chicago Bears.
Peyton has a brother named Eli who is also a quarterback, but plays for the New York Giants.
Manning holds the record for the highest career passing yards and the most consecutive starts and seasons without surgery. He also has three most valuable player awards, getting his first one in 2003, his second in 2004 and his third in 2008. Like any other professional athlete, Peyton has had his off-games and seasons where he was certainly not the most valuable player on the field.
Even while winning team championships and personal awards, Peyton finds time to give back to his community. He has the PeyBack Foundation that donates food to public schools in lower-income neighborhoods. At his sixth annual PeyBack Bowl, his foundation raised over $380,000 for local charities. The PeyBack Foundation has helped over 125 agencies with grants totaling over $600,000. Peyton has set a good precedent for other professional athletes to follow, bettering his community and the world.
