Wide receiver for the Indianapolis Colts, Anthony Gonzalez, was born in September of 1984. He grew up in Ohio with his parents and three siblings. He played two different sports at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland: football and track. He also played basketball his freshman year. He played offense and defense in football and was player of the year for catching 71 passes and 21 touchdowns. In track, he qualified for the state finals his junior and senior year. After graduating, he went to Ohio State University and played football with other future wide receivers for the NFL. During this time, he majored in philosophy.
When Anthony was selected for the Colts, it was the 32nd selection for the first round draft in 2007. He was one of three picked for that draft as receivers. Each year that he plays with the Colts, he does better. He has 94 receptions and received 7 touchdowns for now. In December of 2008, Anthony injured his hip while the team played the Titans, but according to his coach, he may have still been able to play if the team really needed him.
Anthony Gonzalez is unmarried and lives in Columbus, Ohio. As much as he loves the game of football, he eventually wants to go to law school to become a lawyer later on in life, but the NFL is his career for now. In order to help him always do his best in each game he plays, he sleeps in a hyperbaric tent to help his body use oxygen more efficiently.
