Colts Kicker Vinatieri

When it comes to place-kickers in the National Football League, the name Adam Vinatieri comes to mind as being one of the best. Vinatieri was born on December 28th, 1972 in Yankton, South Dakota to Paul and Judy Vinatieri. Vinatieri attended and graduated from Central High School in Rapid City, South Dakota. After graduation, Vinatieri went off to West Point, but returned home after just 2 weeks. Vinatieri decided to remain close to home and go to college at South Dakota State University.

After college, Vinatieri was not drafted but did sign on with the New England Patriots as a free agent. Vinatieri spent the majority of his career with the Patriots. Over the course of his career, Vinatieri has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice and played in 4 Super Bowls with the Patriots. Vinatieri has had 403 field goal attempts over his career and made 331 of them and 506 extra point attempts with 497 made.

After playing with the Patriots for 10 successful seasons, Vinatieri remained a free agent and was picked up by the Indianapolis Colts. With the Colts, Vinatieri played in his 5th Super Bowl. Vinatieri currently holds multiple NFL records including, most consecutive games in a single postseason, most field goals in a single postseason and most extra points in a Super Bowl.

Vinatieri is set to begin his 4th season with the Colts and resides in Carmel, Indiana during the season. Vinatieri is married to his wife Valeri and the couple has 2 children.
