Dwight Freeny

Dwight Jason Freeny was born February 19, 1980 in Hartford, Connecticut. Dwight attended Bloomfield High School and quickly became known as a stand out athlete. He lettered in four different sports in school which were basketball, 3 in football, baseball and soccer. It would be easy too see why he was labeled as a stand-out athlete.

Dwight is now a defensive end for the Indianapolis Colts. He is 6' 1" and weighs 268 pounds. His number for the Colts is 33 and he started with the Colts in 2002 after attending Syracuse University. Dwight was All-America and All Big-East Conference first team, and was named Big-East co-defensive player of the year in 2001. He had 104 tackles and 68 of those were solo tackles. In 2002 Dwight was named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and helped the Colts to defeat the Chicago Bears in the Superbowl XLI in 2007. On July 13, 2007 he signed a contract to make him the highest paid defensive player in the NFL. Dwight suffered a Lisfranc fracture and was unable to play out the 2007 season. He had a much better year in 2008 when he was able to return to playing defense.

Freeny was fined $20,000 for a very bad expletive laced interview with the Indianapolis Star, which ended the season on a bad note. Hopefully things will look up for him from here on out, and he will have another great season.
