Peyton Manning

Peyton Manning, who is arguably the best quarterback in the National Football League today, is from New Orleans, Louisiana. Manning is the son of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning and older brother to Eli Manning, who is quarterback for the New York Giants. It appears as if being a great quarterback is in Peyton's blood.

Peyton Manning had an outstanding college football career with the Tennessee Volunteers. He was drafted to the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, right out of college. Throughout his remarkable football career, Manning has broken many records, including the record for most consecutive seasons with over 4,000 passing yards and the most seasons with 4,000 or more passing yards in a career. Manning has the highest career passing rating of any active quarterback. He is second in this regard only to Steve Young. Manning is also the leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns for the Indianapolis Colts.

In 2003, 2004 and 2008, Manning was voted the Most Valuable Player of the league. He led the Colts to victory over the Chicago Bears in the 2008 Super Bowl. During that game, he was also voted the Super Bowl's Most Valuable Player.

Through his distinguished career in football, Manning has proved himself a great player, but he has also proved himself to be a great humanitarian. In 1999, Manning created the Peyback Foundation to help disadvantaged youth in the Louisiana, Tennessee and Indiana areas. The Peyback Foundation's mission is to promote future success and provide the necessary leadership and growth opportunities for at-risk youth. In 2007, Manning and his wife donated an undisclosed amount of money to St. Vincent's Hospital. The hospital renamed the children’s wing the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent in his honor.
