Bob Sanders

On February 24, 1981 Demond "Bob" Sanders was born in Erie, Pennsylvania to Jean and Marion Sanders.

Bob is 5'8" tall and weighs 202 pounds and plays as a defensive back for the Colts. His most common nicknames are "Hitman" for his hard playing and hitting and "Sandman" because of his last name. He has been playing with the Indianapolis Colts since 2004. He went to school at Erie Central High School and then on to Cathedral Preparatory School. Later he received a scholarship to University of Iowa where he received an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten in 2001. That was also where he was first nicknamed "Hitman" for his tackling plays in his college games. He had a record of 348 tackles in his college years and 25 tackles when the team played Indiana in 2001.

Bob was also named to the first team Big Ten and All American while at University of Iowa. He was chosen to play in his Senior Bowl but injured his foot and was unable to play. Sanders started with the Indianapolis Colts on special teams and as a backup player and later became a defensive back player. He was a hard and ruthless player and later acquired the nickname of the "Hulk" due to his hard tackles. His current contract with the Colts make him the highest paid defense back to date.

With his defensive record and sheer number of tackles he has made and keeps making, it sounds like he is one of the best defensive players that the NFL has. If he keeps it up he will definitely be one of the top players to beat.
