Reggie Wayne

Reginald (Reggie) Wayne was born on November 17, 1978 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up and lived in the New Orleans area, where he attended and graduated from John Ehret High School. He was a standout wide receiver and track star in high school. He went on to attend college at the University of Miami. He played wide receiver at the University of Miami, where he became one of only three wide receivers to catch 20 touchdown passes in their career at Miami.

He was drafted with the 30th pick in the 2001 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts as a backup for Marvin Harrison. Wayne's career started uneventful until his second season. In 2002 Reggie Wayne stepped up and improved significantly over his bleak 2001 rookie season. Wayne improved so much in 2002 that he became a starter for every game in the 2003 season. Ever since then his stats have improved every year and in 2006 he signed a new contract with the Colts. He played so well in 2006 that he was selected to his first pro bowl. In 2007, Wayne experienced his best season ever as a Colt and was again selected to the pro bowl. Wayne's production coupled with the injury problems of Marvin Harrison over the past couple of years has allowed the Colts the opportunity to release Marvin Harrison following the 2008 season. Even though Wayne resides in Indianapolis, he is still involved in charity work in his hometown of New Orleans.
