Popular Indianapolis Colts Players

The Indianapolis Colts have a great deal of talent on their team. The offense is lead by popular all-pro quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning joined the Colts in 1998 when he was selected first overall in the draft. Manning joined fellow long time Colt great Marvin Harrison. Marvin Harrison is one of the most popular Colts of all time. Although Harrison was let go from the Colts in 1999, the tandem put up multiple records. Manning and Harrison hold records for most completions with 971, most passing/receiving yards with 13,090 and most touchdowns with 110.

With Harrison out of the picture, this opens up more rooms for Colts receivers Reggie Wayne and Anthony Gonzales and tight end Dallas Clark. In the 2008 season, the receiving core became more known to Colt fans. Wayne led the Colts with 82 receptions for 1,145 yards and received six touchdowns. Clark was second with 77 receptions for 848 yards and six touchdowns. Newcomer Anthony Gonzales had 57 receptions for 664 yards and four touchdowns.

With the strong passing game for the Colts, they also rely on the run. Running back Joseph Addai is the leading rusher for the Colts. Addai had some problems with injuries in the 2008 season, so that paved the way for backup running back Dominic Rhodes. Addai and Rhodes together rushed for 307 times for a total of 1,082 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. The primary kicker for the Colts is long time New England Patriot Adam Vinatieri.

On the defensive side, the sack leaders in the 2008 season were defensive end Robert Mathis with 11.5 and defensive end Dwight Freeney with 10.5. The two together had 22 of the teams 30 sacks.
