Old Time Colts Players

The Indianapolis Colts are a football team that really has had its ups and downs, since the National Football League has been in existence. They were a team that has been moved twice, but most recently from Baltimore, Maryland, in 1984. The Colts have a number of hall of fame players that have gone in, and have a number of present players that will eventually go in to the hall of fame. The players that made history and paved the way for all present players are remarkable.

One of the most famous players and some consider the best quarterback in history was Johnny Unitas. He played for the Colts from 1956 to 1972. He held a record for throwing a touchdown pass in 47 consecutive games, which was not broken until 2008. Claude "Buddy" Young, also known as the Bronze Bullet, played for the Colts from 1952 to 1955. He was listed at 5'4" and 175 pounds, and was the smallest in the game at that time. Leonard Edward Moore was a running back who played for the Colts from 1956 to 1967. He had a touchdown in 18 consecutive games. Arthur Donovan Jr. was nicknamed the "Bulldog," and played for the Colts from 1953 to 1959. He was inducted to the hall of fame in 1968 as a defensive lineman. James Thomas Parker played with the Colts from 1957 to 1968. He went to the pro bowl 8 times in two different positions. He went in the hall of fame in 1973, the first time he was eligible.
