While he narrowly missed out on a national championship and the Heisman Trophy, he did won numerous other collegiate football awards.
After college, Peyton was the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Peyton set many NFL rookie records in his first season in Indianapolis, and despite his excellent play on a rebuilding team, he finished his rookie season at 3-13. After a trying first few seasons in the NFL, Peyton and the Colts developed into one of the league's powerhouse franchises. Their transformation culminated in a Super Bowl championship in 2007, with Peyton winning the MVP award.
Through his first ten years in the NFL, Peyton Manning has won many awards, including his third league MVP award in 2008. He has broken several major quarterback records and is almost a yearly lock for the Pro Bowl, being selected as a participant 9 out of his 10 seasons in the league.
