Indianapolis Colts' Marvin Harrison

Marvin Daniel Harrison is the most prolific receiver in Colts history. Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning are one of the most productive tandems ever to play in the NFL. Marvin holds many receiving records.

Marvin played college football at Syracuse University. He was teammates there with Donovan McNabb, who went on to become a star quarterback with the Philadelphia Eagles. While playing there Marvin set a national record for most college career receiving yards with 2,718.

Harrison was drafted in the 19th round of the NFL draft in 1996. The Colts traded Jeff George to the Atlanta Falcons in order to draft Marvin. It was a trade that has paid huge dividends for the Colts. In 1996 Marvin started 15 games, had 64 receptions for 836 yards and eight touchdown passes. After the Colts drafted Peyton Manning in 1998 Harrison started racking up numbers that are the envy of many receivers. 2002 was Marvin’s best year when he had 143 receptions for 1722 yards. In 2006 the Colts went all the way and won Super Bowl XLI. Marvin had 5 receptions in the game.

Marvin has 1,064 career receptions for 14,202 yards. He is the only player to have 100 or more receptions in four consecutive seasons. He currently averages 86 catches per season. Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning hold the record for most receptions between a quarterback and receiver with 956. At age 36 in his 13th season, Harrison is still one of the best receivers in the game.
