Anthony Gonzalez

Born September 18, 1984, in Avon Lake, Ohio, Anthony E. Gonzalez is a football wide receiver for the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts. He is 6 foot and weights 193 pounds, which is considered smaller than usual for a wide receiver. He was the Indianapolis Colts’ 32nd choice in the 2007 NFL draft.

In the first year Gonzalez played, he had three touchdowns, and he caught 37 passes for 576 yards. He is expected to fill the spot left open after Stokley left. He states that his goals are to “win championships, be a good teammate.” He said the first practice “sobers you up a little bit.” Anthony heard Lance Armstrong attributing his success to the use of an altitude tent. He decided that he was going to try it also. By the end of the summer workouts, he felt it had worked because he never got sore.

Because Ohio State coach Jim Tressel told the Colts that Anthony was a player “who will leave no stone unturned,” and his excellent showing at summer workouts, he became a first round prospect. Anthony is happy to be playing with the Colts, stating that if he could have picked a team to play for it would have been the Colts. Currently, it is reported that Gonzales is in a slump. He is being kept on the sidelines more than he would like while the Colts play Harrison. In week 7 of the 2008 season, he caught 5 passes for 72 yards, but has not scored this season.
