Anthony Gonzalez was born September 18th, 1984 and grew up in Avon, OH. Gonzalez went to Saint Ignatius High School and was a great athlete in both track and football. In football he played both offense and defense. After high school, Gonzalez furthered his education at Ohio State University from 2004 through 2006.
In 2004, Gonzalez played in 8 games, caught 2 touchdowns and had 179 receiving yards. In 2005 and 2006, Gonzalez improved his numbers. In 2005 he had 3 touchdowns and 373 yards and 2006 he had 8 touchdowns and 734 yards. Gonzalez was named CO-Defensive Player of the Year and led his team to a state championship in his junior year.
Anthony Gonzalez was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 2007, when he was selected with the 32nd pick. The Colts drafted Gonzalez with the intentions of making him into a great slot receiver, joining fellow pronominal receivers Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Gonzalez wears the number 11 and stands 6 feet tall weighing 193 pounds.
In his rookie season (2007), Gonzalez played in 13 games and caught 37 balls for a total of 576 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. In 2008, Gonzalez has been fighting injuries, but has played in 3 games with 26 receptions for 330 yards.
Gonzalez had a big game in week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, gaining 137 yards against a tough Minnesota defense. Gonzalez has yet to score a touchdown in the 2008 season, but he did what looked like one yesterday that was reversed.
